Abstract
Unilateral vocal fold paralysis can have a variety of causes. To improve communication and interaction, it is important to treat this condition either surgically or behaviorally. This text focuses on behavioral voice therapy and intends to provide an overview of results that can be expected. In general, behavioral voice therapy yielded favorable results. However, more research is needed to explore influences of factors like paralysis duration, severity of nerve pathology and spontaneous recovery.
