Knowledge of the normal sonographic development of the fetal skull and in particular the sonographic change of the metopic suture during fetal development is important. Abnormal patterns of the metopic suture are associated with genetic syndromes, metabolic diseases and chromosomal abnormalities [1] [2] [3].
