Fatale Menage à trois: Schmerz, Depression und Sucht

Chronische Schmerzerkrankungen, Depressionen und Suchtverhalten imponieren mit ähnlichen Phänomenen. Die Verbindungen sind weder monokausal, noch einfach zu beschreiben. Bis heute wurde das komplexe Zusammenspiel dieser Dreiecksbeziehung kaum erforscht. Stattdessen dominiert in der Schulmedizin immer noch die künstliche Trennung von Physis und Psyche. Neuronale Wechselbeziehungen verdeutlichen, dass eine unzeitgemäße „Uhrmacher-Medizin“ keinem der drei Krankheitsbilder gerecht wird.
