Im Gegensatz zur akuten bakteriellen Meningitis handelt es sich bei der tuberkulösen Meningitis um eine subakut verlaufende Erkrankung. Die Neurotuberkulose ist in Deutschland selten, aufgrund der hohen Komplikationsrate und der schlechten Prognose ist es aber umso wichtiger, diese Diagnose frühzeitig in Betracht zu ziehen.
