Abstract
Omega-3 fatty acids are polyunsaturated fatty acids with the first double bond at the third bond from the omega end.
Omega-3 fatty acids (hereafter abbreviated to omega-3) have a variety of effects on our health. As of Dec. 6, 2021, more than 100 systematic reviews on omega-3 fatty acids covering a wide variety of topics can be found in PubMed for 2021 alone such as inflammatory bowel disease [1], depression and anxiety [2], cardiovascular diseases (here only effects at higher doses) [3], multiple sclerosis [4], and many more, virtually all of which have shown positive effects of omega-3.
