Ertrinkungsunfälle

Das Meldebild „Ertrinken“ stellt Ersthelfer vor besondere Herausforderungen, da es in diesen akut lebensbedrohlichen Situationen schnell zu handeln gilt. Zu spät eingeleitete Therapie kann potenziell zu langfristigen, gesundheitlichen Folgen bis zum Tod führen. Dieser Artikel präsentiert wesentliche Informationen zur Einteilung, Diagnostik und Therapie von Ertrinkungsunfällen.

• Bei der notfallmedizinischen Versorgung von Patienten mit Ertrinkungsunfällen sind genaue Kenntnisse des Hergangs unabdingbar.

• Heutzutage wird zwischen beinahe Ertrinken und Ertrinken unterschieden.

• Internistische oder neurologische Erkrankungen stellen zusammen mit alkoholbedingtem Schwimmen die häufigsten Gründe für Ertrinkungsunfälle dar.

• In der Initialbehandlung ist neben den üblichen lebenserhaltenden Sofortmaßnahmen die frühzeitige, kontinuierliche Gabe von hochdosiertem Sauerstoff essenziell.

• Bei ertrinkungsinduzierten kardiopulmonalen Reanimationsmaßnahmen (CPR) sollen nach Möglichkeit 5 initiale Beatmungshübe verabreicht werden. Der Prävention von Ertrinkungsunfällen kommt besondere Bedeutung zu.
