    3rd VIENNA EUROSON POCUS SCHOOL
    9–10 September 2022

The theme of the conference was The Point of Care Ultrasonography in Primary Medicine and Ambulatory Healthcare and focussed on approaches aimed at improving early diagnosis through ultrasonography techniques. With advanced and relatively cheap ultrasound devices and high-performance technology with artificial intelligence or smart software using updated diagnostic algorithms, the classic clinical examination can be augmented and significantly improved for most organs of the body. Adding ultrasonographic elastography augments clinical palpation and electronic auscultation through the Doppler Triplex technique (US-auscultation) all combine to increase the diagnostic accuracy in primary and outpatient healthcare.

The meeting provided a platform for networking with many of Europe's leading experts and hearing about recent developments and current best practice. Most importantly they managed to bring together the medical organizations EUVEKUS, WONCA, EURACT (THE EUROPEAN ACADEMY OF TEACHERS IN GENERAL PRACTICE/FAMILY MEDICINE) and the primary healthcare federation EGPRN (EUROPEAN GENERAL PRACTICE RESEARCH NETWORK), EURIPA (the European Rural and Isolated Practitioners Association) and EQUIP (Quality and Safety in General Practice/Family Medicine). They managed to highlight the limited access for the training and education of family doctors in the field of clinical ultrasound, that unfortunately exists in many European countries reinforcing the need to organize this annual event.

The organisers would like to thank all participants for their important support in carrying out this idea of multidisciplinary collaboration, and for promoting the development and use of Point Of Care Ultrasonography in primary and ambulatory healthcare at the European level.

The ROUND TABLE entitled „The future of using PoCUS in ambulatory healthcare from the perspective of professional organizations: WONCA EUROPE, EFSUMB, WFUMB, EUVEKUS” can be reviewed using the link: https://youtu.be/V5dyhfKqcEA

Please participate in the next meeting which will take place in Vienna on September 9–10, 2023.
