Ein Orf-Fall ohne direkten Tierkontakt
An Orf case without direct contact to animalsZusammenfassung
Abstract
The Orf virus is usually transmitted to humans through direct skin-to-skin contact with infected goats or sheep. After an incubation period of 3–10 days, ecthyma contagiosum manifests itself at the exposed body sites, usually of the upper extremity, with indurated, erythematous nodules and associated lymphadenopathy. Usually the lesions heal spontaneously within a few weeks. Here we present the case of a 44-year-old female patient who contracted the Parapox virus without direct contact from an infected cow.
