Copenhagen Basic Head & Neck Ultrasound Course

 

    A one-and-a-half-day course from November 28 to 29, 2024, will teach basic head and neck ultrasound and ultrasound-guided intervention skills. The course is for clinicians who are interested in starting to perform ultrasound in their clinical practice. It is relevant to ENT surgeons and other specialties performing head and neck ultrasounds, such as endocrinologists, radiologists, etc.

    This course will cover basic ultrasound physics, head and neck ultrasound anatomy, systematic head and neck ultrasound examination, and essential head and neck pathology. About half the time is dedicated to hands-on training, including patient models. Further, the participants will also practice ultrasound-guided interventions (including fine-needle aspiration biopsies and core needle biopsies) on phantoms. The European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (EFSUMB) has endorsed the course, and the curriculum of the theoretical part corresponds to EFSUMB Levels 1 and 2.
