Hintergrund

Eine okuläre Argyrose ist in der Literatur nach langjähriger topischer oder systemische Einnahme von silberhaltigen Medikamenten oder auch nach beruflicher Exposition beschrieben [1], [2], [3]. Silberreste im Bereich der Bindehaut und Hornhaut können ebenso durch den chronischen Einsatz von silberhaltigen Kosmetika verursacht sein [1]. Weitere Ablagerungen sind im Bereich der Adnexe und intraokular dokumentiert.
