Trachealkanülen-Management in der interdisziplinär orientierten Rehabilitation
Tracheal Cannula Management in Interdisciplinary Rehabilitation
Abstract
The care of tracheostomized patients requires close interdisciplinary cooperation between the specialist departments involved during the course of rehabilitation, with particular attention paid to the handling of the inserted cannula. The aim is to restore lost functions as fully as possible and ultimately to wean the patient off the tracheostomy tube, but also to be realistic about the possibilities dictated by the underlying disease. This may also mean that the tracheostomy tube cannot be removed and the rehabilitation phase is used to prepare the patient for outpatient tube care. Optimized tracheostomy tube management helps to minimize the remaining functional deficits and improve the quality of life of the affected patients.
