Gefäßverletzungen nehmen in der Gesamtzahl der
rekonstruktiven Eingriffe nur einen geringen Prozentsatz ein. Entscheidend
hinsichtlich der Prognose ist, dass die Gefäßverletzung so bald wie
möglich erkannt und therapiert wird. Für die erfolgreiche Therapie
von Gefäßverletzungen sind die schnelle Exposition und
Blutungskontrolle wesentliche Voraussetzungen.
