Ein akuter Verwirrtheitszustand (Delir) ist ein im Alter häufig auftretendes Phänomen und oft erstes und auch einziges Symptom einer akuten somatischen Erkrankung. Auch unerwünschte Arzneimittelwirkungen und Medikamenteninteraktionen können Ursache eines Delirs sein. Neben der homöopathischen Diagnose ist immer eine exakte klinische Diagnose zu stellen.
