Jacques Bergman

Dear colleagues

We would like to congratulate Jacques Bergman on his recent appointment as Head of Endoscopy at the AMC, Amsterdam. This has brought with it many new responsibilities and Jacques has asked to take a break from the Co-Editor team in order to dedicate the necessary time to this new challenge, plus his many research activities.

Those who know him personally will be aware of the fact that Jacques does not do things by halves. He is never satisfied with anything but the best and this has been reflected in the meticulous care with which he took on all responsibilities for Endoscopy. Jacques has been a great stalwart for the journal, with his innovative and yet clearly structured approach. During the past two years in particular, I am personally extremely grateful for his invaluable support.

Although Jacques is taking leave of the Co-Editors team, we are very glad that he has agreed to remain on the Editorial Board. Thus the ”Endoscopy tie” will remain and, whilst wishing Jacques all the very best in his new position, we look forward to continuing our cooperation with him in his position as Endoscopy board member.
