Abstract
The transition-metal-mediated functionalization of CO2 is currently an area attracting considerable interest due to the potential benefits of utilizing CO2 as a C1 feedstock. Here, recent advances in CO2 activation and functionalization using monomeric Pd η¹-allyls are summarized. Subsequently, we discuss the chemistry of unusual Pd(I)-bridging allyl dimers, which may be masks for Pd η¹-allyl complexes, and are stable catalysts for CO2 functionalization.
Key words
palladium - bridging allyl complexes - carbon dioxide functionalization - homogeneous catalysis - multimetallic complexes
