Summary

Die Hirudotherapie hat in der Naturheilkunde eine lange Tradition. Doch wenig bekannt ist bisher, dass sie eine Option in der Behandlung von Störungen des blutbildenden Systems sein kann, bei denen ein Aderlass indiziert ist. Dr. med. Dominique Kähler beschreibt die Behandlung einer Patientin mit Polycythaemia vera über mehrere Jahre. Die positive Wirkung der Blutegeltherapie zeigt sich anhand des klinischen Verlaufs.
