Zusammenfassung
Die 1934 geborene, ältere Schwester P. erkrankte 1958 an einer schubförmigen MS, die Erstdiagnose erfolgte 1983. Bei einer Häufigkeit von 2 Schüben pro Jahr und einem EDSS-Score von 4,0 erfolgte im März 1995 die Einstellung auf Interferon β-1b. Bei guter Verträglichkeit kam es im Dezember 1995 zu einem neuen Schub und damit zum Therapieabbruch. In den Folgejahren vollzog sich der Übergang in die sekundär progrediente Form, heutiger EDSS-Score 7,5.
Bei der 2 Jahre jüngeren Schwester R. traten typische Symptome 1973 auf, eine Erstdiagnose erfolgte 1989, damaliger EDSS-Score 3,5. Ebenfalls 1995 wurde mit einer Behandlung mit Interferon β-1b begonnen, die noch andauert. Der jetzige EDSS-Wert liegt bei 4,0.
Abstract
The older sister, born in 1934, developed first symptoms of relapsing remitting MS in 1958, the diagnosis was made in 1983. With a frequency of two relapses per year and an EDSS-score of 4.0, treatment with interferon β-1b was started in March 1995. It was initially well tolerated, with no further relapses. In December 1995 the patient suffered another relapse and discontinued the therapy. In the following years a change towards a secondary progressive multiple sclerosis occurred; today’s EDSS-score is 7.5.
The two years younger sister suffered from the first characteristic symptoms in 1973, the diagnosis was made in 1989, with an EDSS-score of 3.5. Also 1995 treatment with interferon β-1b began and continues until today. Her actual EDSS-score is 4.0.
