Zusammenfassung

Bei einer heute 20-jährigen Multiple-Sklerose-Patientin trat erstmalig im Alter von 14 Jahren eine Sensibilitätsstörung im Bereich der rechten Gesichtshälfte, der rechten Hand und des rechten Beines auf. In einer umgehend angefertigten Kernspintomografie des Schädels ließen sich „entzündliche Läsionen“ nachweisen. Vier Monate später entwickelte die Patientin erneut einen klinischen Schub, der zur Diagnose einer schubförmig verlaufenden Multiplen Sklerose führte. Daraufhin wurde eine Therapie mit Interferon β-1b (Betaferon®) eingeleitet, die von der Patientin gut vertragen wurde und den Krankheitsverlauf der Patientin nunmehr seit 6 Jahren ohne weitere Schübe stabilisiert hat.

Abstract

At the age of 14 years, a now 20-year old female multiple sclerosis patient for the first time developed sensory disturbances in the right side of the face, the right hand and the right leg. At that time, magnetic resonance imaging studies of the brain detected “inflammatory lesions”. Four months later, the patient developed a relapse that led to the diagnosis of relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis. Subsequently, treatment with interferon β-1b (Betaferon®) was initiated. Therapy was well tolerated and stabilised the disease course over the next 6 years with no further relapses.
