Ramsey Markus

I want to thank Dr. Ramsey Markus for serving as guest editor for this issue of Seminars in Plastic Surgery on “Cosmetic Laser Resurfacing” and the outstanding authors for their contributions.

Ramsey Markus, M.D., is an associate professor in the Department of Dermatology at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Markus obtained his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1995 and finished his dermatology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1999. After residency, Dr. Markus completed a fellowship in dermatologic laser surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Laser Surgery and Medicine. He currently serves as Director of the Laser Center and Co-director of the Aesthetics Center at Baylor College of Medicine.

Dr. Markus has published over 25 peer-reviewed journal articles and written five book chapters. He has presented at countless meetings and is a prominent voice in the laser surgery community. Dr. Markus continues to be actively involved in dermatology research and teaching at Baylor College of Medicine.
