Diabetologische Schwerpunktpraxen (DSP) versorgen ein hochkomplexes, morbiditätsintensives Krankengut. Sie sind mit Teams besetzt, die neben der hochspeziellen Diagnostik eines durchgehend chronisch kranken Patientengutes insbesondere umfassende Schulungs- und Beratungsleistungen anbieten können. DSP sind Teil einer strukturierten Versorgungskette, die in Zukunft durch die Definition von Schnittstellen sektorenübergreifend integrativ tätig werden können, in Form von Versorgungslandschaften.
Diabetes specialist practices (DSP) care for a highly complex, intensively morbid patient collective. They are staffed with teams who can provide their entire chronically ill patient populations with comprehensive educational and consultational services besides the needed highly specialized diagnostics. The DSPs are part of a structured health-care chain that, in future, should become, through the definition of interfaces, cross-sectorially and integratively active in the form of health-care landscapes.
