Die idiopathische Epilepsie zählt zu den häufigsten chronischen neurologischen Erkrankungen des Hundes, deren Inzidenz mit bis zu 5,7 % angegeben wird [[1]]. Die meisten der betroffenen Tiere benötigen eine medikamentelle Therapie, die einmal initiiert, dann meistens lebenslang weitergeführt werden muss.
