Abstract

Endoscopic removal of adenomas may prevent development of colon cancer and reduce colon cancer related death. Precursor lesions missed during endoscopy however, may hamper this effect and account for interval cancers. Therefore, measures are needed to further improve the quality of colonoscopic surveillance. Both, factors related to the endoscopist as well as new technical developments are discussed.
