In den letzten 50 Jahren hat sich die gastrointestinale Endoskopie bemerkenswert entwickelt. Mit hoher diagnostischer Leistungsfähigkeit kann sie heute den gesamten Verdauungskanal inspizieren und die Verbindung mit speziellen Techniken zur risikoarmen und wenig belastenden nicht operativen Behandlung nutzen.
