Abstract
This case report describes the influence of trigger point therapy and exercise on movement control, pain and disability in a female patient with chronic neck pain.
The 52-year old woman presented with a history of multiple surgical spinal interventions and the diagnosis of several cervical radiculopathies. The clinical findings included a pronounced disability of cervical movement control, insufficient cervical spinal stability and trigger points in the neck muscles.
Following trigger point therapy of the affected neck muscles, a specific exercise programme including postural correction and additional ergonomic advice the complaints and impairments decreased considerably and the patient did no longer suffered from pain at her work place.
