Zusammenfassung
Kernsymptome der Binge-Eating-Störung sind Kontrollverluste bei der Nahrungsaufnahme i. S. von Essanfällen, auf die kein Verhalten, das auf Kalorienverlust abzielt, folgt. Von der Binge-Eating-Störung sind Untergruppen adipöser Kinder, Jugendlicher und Erwachsener betroffen, die mit einer erhöhten Essstörungspsychopathologie sowie allgemeiner Psychopathologie assoziiert sind. In der Regel geht die Binge-Eating-Störung mit Übergewicht oder Adipositas einher, wobei die Vorstellung der monokausalen Verknüpfung, dass die Binge-Eating-Störung zur Adipositas führt, nicht mehr haltbar ist. Disponierende Faktoren sowohl für Übergewicht und Adipositas als auch für psychische Störungen stellen die Risikofaktoren für die Entwicklung einer Binge-Eating-Störung dar. Restriktives Essverhalten, d. h. die bewusste hypokalorische Ernährung mit dem Ziel der Gewichtsabnahme als conditio sine qua non wie bei der Bulimia nervosa findet sich nur in der Hälfte der Fälle von Binge-Eating-Störungen. Im vorliegenden Beitrag wird das Erscheinungsbild, die Verbreitung, die Diagnose und Behandlung der Binge-Eating-Störung bei Kindern und Erwachsenen beschrieben.
Summary
One main symptom of a binge eating disorder is the loss of control of intake, i. e. eating attacks that are, however, not followed up by behaviour aimed at losing calories. Subgroups of obese children, adolescents and adults are affected; the disorder is associated witha raised eating disorder pathology as well as a general psychopathology. It is, as a rule, associated with overweight or obesity, whereby the monocausal assumption that binge eating leads to obesity is no longer tenable. Predisposing factors for both overweight and obesity as well as psychic disorders present themselves as risk factors for the development of a binge eating disorder. Restrictive eating behaviour, i. e. the conscious hypocaloric nutritional intake with the goal of weight reduction as a condition sine qua non, as is the case for bulimia nervosa, may only be found in half of the cases of binge eating disorder. In the present paper, the occurrence, extent, diagnosis and treatment of this eating disorder are described for children and adults.
