Zusammenfassung
Intoxikationen durch Zierpflanzen gehören nicht zu den häufig gemeldeten Intoxikationen
bei Hund und Katze. Dennoch gibt es für eine Reihe von giftigen Zierpflanzen Fallbeschreibungen.
Diese übersichtsarbeit stellt typische Vergiftungssymptome und Therapieansätze nach
Intoxikationen mit Zierpflanzen zusammen (geordnet nach Toxizitätsgrad der Pflanze).
Oft ist nur eine symptomatische Behandlung (Aufrechterhaltung der Vitalfunktionen,
Auslösen von Erbrechen, Resorptionshemmung durch Aktivkohle, Gabe von Laxanzien) möglich.
Sind spezifische Antidota bekannt, werden sie bei den einzelnen Pflanzen abgehandelt.
Summary
Plant poisoning in canines and felines does not belong to the often reported poisonings.
The Illinois Animal Poison Control Center reported that only 11.6% of the inquiries
(1978-1981) were plant-related. However, there are quite many case reports and also
some reports on fatal cases which are plant-related. Thus, this review focuses on
typical symptoms of plant poisoning (in order of toxicity of the plants) and possible
treatment plans. Often, plant poisoning can only be treated symptomatically (stabilisation
of vital signs, administration of emetics, prevention of further absorption by activated
charcoal, administration of laxatives). If specific antidotes are available, they
will be listed with the indicated plant.
