Quälende Albträume, die Aspekte eines traumatischen Ereignisses oder die traumatische Szene selbst in Gänze wiederkehrend darstellen und die Schlafqualität massiv irritieren, zählen zu den Kernsymptomen in der diagnostischen Konzeptualisierung einer Posttraumatischen Belastungsstörung (PTBS, PTSD).
