Zusammenfassung

Einleitung: GnRH-Analoga stellen den Therapiestandard für Patienten mit einem hormonsensitiven fortgeschrittenen Prostatakarzinom dar. Kombi-Injektionsbestecke für subkutan zu applizierende Depot-Implementate wie das Zoladex Safe System® (AstraZeneca) erleichtern die Applikation bei bestmöglichem Schutz des verabreichenden medizinischen Personals.

Methoden: Anwendungserfahrungen bezüglich der erreichten Therapiequalität und -sicherheit wurden im Rahmen eines Qualitätssicherungsprojekts gesammelt, bei dem die Langzeitverabreichung eines 10,8 mg Goserelin 3-Monatsimplantats über einen Zeitraum von 18 Monaten bei mehr als 2000 Patienten dokumentiert und mittels epidemiologischer Methoden ausgewertet wurde.

Ergebnisse: Die sehr gute Verträglichkeit und Wirksamkeit der GnRH-Analoga über das volle Indikationsspektrum beim hormonsensitiven Prostatakarzinom bestätigte sich in dieser Anwendungsbeobachtung. über den gesamten Beobachtungszeitraum lagen die fachliche Beurteilung der Therapiewirksamkeit und Verträglichkeit konstant bei mehr als 93% bzw. 98%. Bei mehr als 10000 Verabreichungen wurde kein einziger Fall einer Stechnadel-induzierten Verletzung des Fachpersonals berichtet. Schlussfolgerungen: Diese Ergebnisse bestätigen den Stellenwert der GnRH-Blockade als gut verträglicher, effektiver und von ärzten wie Patienten geschätzten Therapieoption beim hormonsensitiven Prostatakarzinom.

Summary

Introduction: GnRH analoga represent the acknowledged therapy standard in patients with prostate cancer suited for antihormonal treatment. Ready-to-use injection systems optimise the application for the patient in line with the best-possible protection of the medical personal.

Methods: The use and acceptance of the goserelin application Zoladex 10.8 Safe System™ (AstraZeneca) was studied in more than 2000 patients treated for an interval of 18 months with the 3-months depot. Safety, tolerability and quality of life were assessed at three monthly intervals.

Results: The non-interventional study, using standard epidemiological methods for data analysis, demonstrated a high degree of user satisfaction in terms of the therapeutic efficacy and tolerability (93% and 98%, respectively) over the whole observation period. After 18 months of treatment, the median PSA was lowered from baseline in at least 95% of patients across all strata. More than 10,000 applications of the Safe system were documented without any case of a needle-stick injury of the medical personnel. Conclusion: These results confirm the relevance of the GnRH ablation therapy as an efficient, safe and highly estimated therapeutic option in the treatment of hormone sensitive prostate cancer.
