Abstract

Summary

This study evaluated the angiosome of the cranial superficial epigastric artery and perfusion of the cranial superficial epigastric skin flap using scintigraphy. The results from this study indicate the cranial superficial epigastric skin flap may remain viable in a chronic model.

Anastomoses were noted between the cranial and caudal superficial epigastric arterial beds of all skin flaps. The scintigraphic study demonstrated that perfusion of the entire skin flap was maintained, with only the cranial superficial artery and vein intact.
