Abstract

Recent programming and computer innovations are described, to supplement an earlier report regarding information handling for research in progress. The two papers have described detailed features of the system employed by an institution (Science Information Exchange) which has been concerned with research information retrieval for twenty years. Results of evaluations of the system have also been described, to document the degree of adequacy of the methods employed.

Jüngste Programmier- und Computer-Neuerungen werden in Ergänzung eines früheren Berichtes über die Datenverarbeitung von Information über in Entwicklung befindliche Forschungsprojekte beschrieben. Die beiden Mitteilungen haben ausführlich die Prinzipien des Systems behandelt, das vom »Science Information Exchange« im Laufe von 20 Jahren für die Datenverarbeitung im Bereich der Forschungsdokumentation entwickelt wurde. Die Resultate einer Benutzer-Umfrage werden diskutiert, um die Angemessenheit der Methoden zu dokumentieren.
