Färberwaid ( Isatis tinctoria ) für die Behandlung von Psoriasis

Zusammenfassung

In-vitro-, Tier- und Humanstudien lassen den Schluss zu, dass die aus der chinesischen Medizin bekannte topische Behandlung mit Isatis indigotica bei Psoriasis eine Alternative zu anderen Therapieverfahren darstellen könnte. Die bei Psoriasis überschießende Teilungsrate der Keratinozyten wird zurückgeführt. Ebenso reifen die Keratinozyten wieder aus. Diese wesentlichen Prozesse für den Therapieerfolg sind in Untersuchungen an Hautzellen aufgezeigt. Wesentlicher Inhaltsstoff in Isatis indigotica, der den Behandlungserfolg vermittelt, ist Indirubin. In Europa wird Isatis tinctoria, der Färberwaid, traditionell angebaut, in dem ebenfalls Indirubin enthalten ist. Lipophile Extrakte aus Isatis tinctoria enthalten besonders hohe Gehalte an Indirubin. Mit einer Zubereitung, die einen solchen Extrakt enthält, wurde der Therapieerfolg in einer Anwendungsbeobachtung bestätigt.

Woad (Isatis tinctoria) for treating psoriasis

In vitro, animal, and human studies of the past 10 years suggest that a topical treatment with Isatis indigotica may provide an alternative to therapy measures for psoriasis. The therapy leads to the deacceleration of enhanced division rate of keratinocytes caused by psoriasis. Thus the keratinocytes are able to mature again. These essential processes for the success of the therapy have been validated by several tests on skin cells. Indirubin is the essential ingredient in Isatis indigotica that is responsible for this treatment success. Indirubin is also an ingredient in woad (Isatis tinctoria), that is traditionally grown in Europe. Especially lipophilic extracts from Isatis tinctoria contain high concentrations of indirubin. A preparation containing such an extract confirmed the success of the therapy in two observational studies.
