Aktuelle Anti-G-Schutzkonzepte sind ohne effektive Anti-G-Anzüge nicht mehr denkbar. Trotz der zunächst vorhandenen Vielgestaltigkeit der einzelnen Ansätze zu Beginn ihrer Entwicklung, besteht der während des 2. Weltkriegs entwickelte pneumatische Anzug in seiner Grundform noch heute. In Kampfflugzeugen neuerer Generationen reicht der durch die herkömmliche Anti-G-Hose generierte Schutz indes nicht mehr aus. Hier sind inzwischen komplexe Anti-G-Schutzsysteme im Einsatz, um die Piloten vor den Gefahren zu hoher Beschleunigungen zu bewahren. Dennoch lässt sich die durch Anti-G-Anzüge erzielte Schutzwirkung, zumindest mit den heute denkbaren Mitteln, nur noch sehr begrenzt – schätzungsweise bis etwa 12 GZ – weiter erhöhen. Jenseits dieses Wertes muss davon ausgegangen werden, dass die dabei auftretenden statischen Belastungen die Zerreißgrenze der Gewebe insbesondere im Bereich der Halswirbelsäule deutlich überschreiten und bisher keines der getesteten Systeme dies zu verhindern vermag.
Current anti-G protection concepts are no longer conceivable without effective anti-G suits. Despite the initial diversity of the individual approaches existing in the beginning of anti-G suit development, the pneumatic suit developed during World War II still exists in its basic form. In more recent combat aircraft generations, however, the protection generated by traditional anti-G trousers does not suffice any longer. Therefore, complex anti-G protection systems are used to save the pilots from the dangers of too high accelerations. All the same, it will only be possible to further increase the protective effect achieved by the anti-G suits to a very limited extent (up to approximately 12 GZ ), at least by the means conceivable today. It must be assumed that, beyond this value, the static strains involved will considerably exceed the tearing limits of body tissues, particularly in the area of the cervical spine, and so far, none of the systems tested has been capable of preventing this effect.
