Die Insulinpumpe hat in der Therapie des Typ-1-Diabetes einen festen Stellenwert. Um eine sichere Insulinzufuhr zu gewährleisten, ist die Anlage des Pumpenkatheters essenziell – sie ist deshalb ein zentraler Punkt in Patientenschulungen zur Insulinpumpentherapie. Besonders über die Auswahl des Katheters, der richtigen Insertionsstelle und des Zeitpunktes müssen die Patienten informiert werden.
