Foreword
This fifth and final issue for 2023 of Seminars in Speech and Language (SSL) represents the completion of our first year as co-editors-in-chief yet the beginning of our tenure in this role. What an opportune time to reflect on our work of the past year and preview what to expect in the coming year. When we began our tenure as co-editors-in-chief, SSL shifted in structure and format to allow for more open submissions while still including forums on essential topics of interest to our readers. This has allowed us to provide readers of SSL with an eclectic mix of studies representing the breadth and scope of practice for speech-language pathology. We have been pleased with the variety of topics and types of studies published this year, including surveys, qualitative studies, and clinical focus articles that share innovations in the field for practicing clinicians, clinical educators, and researchers. Four of the five issues published in 2023 (Volume 44 of SSL) have included open submissions, including the current issue.
