Abstract

Sodium cyanodithioformate·3DMF reacted with 1,1-dimethylhydrazine and concentrated ammonia solution via a simple route to the hitherto unknown oxamide bis(dimethyl hydrazone). This product was also obtained by reaction of diethyl oxalimidate with 1,1-dimethylhydrazine in absolute ethanol. The crystal structure of the novel compound is reported.
