Eine Handverletzung durch ein Airbag-Trauma

Zusammenfassung

Der Airbag kann sowohl Autoinsassen vor Verletzungen schützen als auch selbst Verletzungen hervorrufen. Es wird über eine 41-jährige Frau berichtet, die durch die plötzliche Entfaltung eines Airbags bei einem Autounfall eine tiefgreifende Verletzung an der rechten Hand mit offener Verrenkung im Karpometakarpalgelenk des Daumens, eine Ulnafraktur sowie Rippenfrakturen erlitt. Neben Angaben zur Behandlung werden auch Gedanken zur Vermeidung derartiger Verletzungen unter Berücksichtigung der Literatur diskutiert.

Summary

Although the airbag is designed to protect people from injury, it sometimes causes injuries. A case with open dislocation of the first carpometacarpal joint and fractures of the ulna and of several ribs due to an airbag is presented. The treatment is reported and the prevention of this injury is discussed with the literature reviewed.
