The TriGen Intramedullary Nail System: A One-Year Clinical Experience
Publication History
Publication Date:
11 September 2002 (online)
Introduction
Efforts continue to extend the indications of intramedullary nailing to include more proximal fractures, more distal fractures, and open fractures of the lower limb. Some examples of this evolution during the last few years include the long Gamma nail for proximal femoral fractures, the Seligson-Green-Henry nail for distal femoral fractures and the AO/ASIF unreamed nails for open tibial fractures.
Only recently these and other features were incorporated into a single nailing system. This paper describes our early experience with such a new system, namely the TriGen nailing system developed by Drs. Toney Russell and Roy Sanders.
