Introduction
Intraoperative visualization of the arterial vasculature is not standardized; it is also difficult to achieve, especially in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting or surgical correction of congenital heart disease involving coronary arteries, such as arterial switch operations for transposition of the great arteries. The present paper summarizes our early experience with a novel technology for visualizing the arterial vasculature on the operating table. The technique involves the acquisition of images of the arterial tree during the first pass of a bolus of a fluorescent contrast agent through the field of view.
