Zusammenfassung

Ipecacuanha konnte als das epidemische Mittel bei einer Episode von sehr starken Kopfschmerzattacken mit Fieber in einer Familie bestimmt werden. Während der erste Fall noch mit Belladonna und Arsenicum album einen verzögerten Heilungsverlauf nahm, konnte beim zweiten Fall durch das auffallende Symptom „nächtliche Oberschenkelkrämpfe” Ipecacuanha als das heilende Mittel gefunden werden. Charakteristisch für das Mittel war die begleitende Übelkeit mit Erbrechen, wobei der heftige, meningeale Kopfschmerz für Ipecacuanha weniger geläufig ist.

Ipecacuanha was identified as the epidemic remedy in an episode of very strong attacks of headaches with fever in a family. While the first case was treated with Belladonna and Arsenicum album and showed a delayed healing process, Ipecacuanha was identified in the second case as the remedy due to the noticeable symptom of „spasm in the thigh during the night”. A characteristic of the remedy was the accompanying nausea with vomiting, whereas the heavy, meningeal headache is less common for Ipecacuanha.
