Elimination of the Disturbances in Electric Potentials Generated During Limb Egalisation by Distractive Osteogenesis Method

Abstract
Metal intraosseus implants cause disturbances in tissue bioelectricity. During the process of egalisation between the limb and the apparatus an excessive electric potential is generated. This phenomena could have a negative influence in the new bone rebuilding. In the case of 10 children treated by the distractive osteogenesis method an original appliance was used to eliminate negative electric potentials generated by the metal implantations of the Ilizarov apparatus. It has been demonstrated that this prototypical “eliminator” effectively stabilizes the physiological level of electric potential.
