ABSTRACT

Lung cancer is the leading cause of death among men and women in the United States. Utilizing the best current therapies results in an overall 5-year relative survival rate of 15% for all stages, necessitating the use of alternative therapies. Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is an expanding modality for the local control of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The technique and application of RFA in pulmonary neoplasms will be discussed in addition to early clinical experience.
