Pain following spinal cord trauma is common and frequently perplexing as multiple
etiologies can confuse the diagnosis. Neuropathic pain from spinal cord damage is
frequent, occurring in up to 40% of patients. However, autonomic and musculoskeletal
pain generators are also common.
