Zusammenfassung
Als Teil ihrer Ausbildung sollten Angehörige der Gesundheitsberufe ihre Kommunikationsfähigkeiten in irgendeiner Form schulen. Inhalte und Qualität solcher Schulungsprogramme lassen sich unter Umständen allerdings schwer bestimmen. Die vorliegende Studie hat ein 8-stündiges Schulungsprogramm entworfen, das Physiotherapeuten Kenntnisse zur Verbesserung ihrer Interaktion mit Patienten mittels eines patientenzentrierten Ansatzes vermittelte. Anschließend wurde die Wirksamkeit des Programms ausgewertet. Die Ergebnisse der Studie zeigen, dass die Maßnahme das Potenzial hat, Verhaltensänderungen zu bewirken und in weiterentwickelter Form möglicherweise erfolgreicher wäre.
Abstract
As part of their education process health professionals should train their communication skills in some form. However, determining the content and quality of such training programmes can be difficult to ascertain. This study designed an 8 hour training programme to teach physiotherapists skills to improve their interaction with patients using a patient-centred approach. afterwards the efficacy of the programme was evaluated. The study’s results indicate that the intervention has potential to bring about behaviour change and may prove more successful with further development.
