Jährlich werden in Deutschland mehr als 140 .000 herzchirurgische Eingriffe durchgeführt [9]; wesentlich höher ist die entsprechende Zahl nicht-kardialer Operationen. Herzrhythmusstörungen sind eine wesentliche Ursache von Morbidität und Letalität im weiteren postoperativen Verlauf. Risikokonstellationen, Prognose, geeignete Präventions- und Behandlungsstrategien spezifischer postoperativer Arrhythmien werden im vorliegenden Übersichtsartikel dargestellt. Ziel ist die Verminderung von Letalität, Morbidität, Krankenhausverweildauer und resultierenden Kosten, die mit postoperativen Herzrhythmusstörungen assoziiert sind.
