Prophylaxe und Therapie von Paravasaten

Zusammenfassung

Die versehentliche Injektion eines Zytostatikums direkt in das Gewebe kann je nach Typ des Zytostatikums zu einer ausgeprägten Gewebeschädigung führen. Durch korrekte Einhaltung einfacher präventiver Maßnahmen sowie die Kenntnis von Risikofaktoren lässt sich diese, in der Hämato-Onkologie sehr gefürchtete Komplikation weitgehend vermeiden. Sollte trotz aller Vorsicht eine Paravasation aufgetreten sein, so existiert für deren Therapie kein anerkannter Standard, jedoch können Empfehlungen für Sofortmaßnahmen gegeben werden.

Summary

By the consideration of risk factors extravasations of chemotherapeutic agents can be avoided in most cases. Based on the potential to cause local tissue injury drugs are classified as vesicant, irritant and non-irritant. To date there are no generally approved treatment guidelines for the management of extravasations but some empirical methods are widely accepted.
