Introduction

Catamenial pneumothorax (CP) is a rare clinical condition and its pathogenesis is not fully understood. It is usually right sided, involves women in the 3rd or 4th decade of life and occurs within 72 h of menstruation. In most cases it is associated with thoracic endometriosis and/or diaphragmatic lesions. Hormonal suppressive therapy and surgical treatment are the two therapeutic options.
