I wish to thank Dr. Spiegel for serving as guest editor and the authors who contributed to this issue on perforator flaps for Seminars in Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Aldona J. Spiegel is the Director of the Center for Breast Restoration at the Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas and an Associate Professor at Cornell University. Dr. Spiegel earned her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Ottawa, Canada. She completed her general surgery training at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She completed her plastic surgery training as well as a microsurgery fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

Her clinical expertise is in microsurgical breast reconstruction, particularly the area of surgical restoration with muscle-sparing perforator flaps. She has compiled an issue that is certain to be a contribution to the literature in this demanding technical field.
