A General and Efficient Synthesis of Nitrogen-Substituted Ferrocenes

Abstract

Copper(I) iodide mediated Ullmann-type coupling reactions of iodoferrocene and 1,1′-diiodoferrocene has been used to synthesize N-substituted ferrocenes that are difficult to obtain by classical methods. In this manner, a range of Fc-[N]-R-type compounds have been prepared in moderate to good yields.
