Abstract
In the Australian Rules Football (AFL) competition groin injuries are a common disabling problem. Such injuries include osteitis pubis, adductor tendinopathy, adductor muscle strains, inguinal hernias, conjoint tendon lesions, pelvic stress, avulsion fractures as well as lower abdominal and hip flexor strains.
This paper outlines an effective management approach for groin injuries, implemented over an 8 year period, which contributed to a 74.9 percent better outcome within the elite AFL competition.
