Zusammenfassung
Durch eine Hormonsubstitution lassen sich bei postmenopausalen Frauen urogenitale Beschwerden behandeln und osteoporotische Frakturen verhindern. Bei frühzeitigem Beginn kann eine Reduktion für Herzinfarkte und kolorektale Karzinome erwartet werden. Risiken wie venöse Thrombosen oder Schlaganfall, möglicherweise auch Brustkrebs, lassen sich durch eine differenzierte Präparatewahl reduzieren, speziell durch Verwendung von (Kombi-) Pflastern oder Gelen, fakultativ auch durch Kombination mit Progesteron oder Dydrogesteron.
